Something smelly is afoot in the Traitors castle, and it’s not just Tom Sandoval’s flatulence. Dylan Efron, Zac Efron’s baby brother and an equally dashing heartthrob, has emerged as a leading Faithful on the third season of Peacock’s Scottish caper. And now, he also emerged as a vocal supporter of the anti-shower agenda.

In a new episode of the Are You Okay? show, Efron was asked to name something he finds overrated. Without hesitation, he said: “I think people shower too much.” Hmm, care to expand on that, Dylan?

“We take way too many showers,” he explained. “I go in the pool a lot — like, there’s chlorine. It’s killing everything.”

When the show’s host, Bri Morales, pointed out the reality star probably wasn’t “scrubbing” his body in a chlorinated pool, Efron countered: “We don’t need to soap our bodies every time we’re in the shower, either. That’s way too much!”

I appreciate Efron’s conviction here, but I think this man is wrong. Yes, your skin’s naturally produced oil can be good for you. But, much like alpha males and Gabby Windey, oil and water do not mix. Imagine all the grime Efron has collected from challenges on the show (mostly that nightmarish larvae box). You’re telling me that man would just take a dip in an indoor pool and call it a day? Straight men: They really aren’t well.

In case you need a palate cleanser, Efron did say that he really likes sunsets, which is cute and sensitive. It remains confounding to me that celebrities, presumably very rich people, ride so hard for anti-bathing discourse. If I were that wealthy, I’d go doomsday-prepper mode and stock years’ worth of Le Labo Rose 31 shower gel in my bathroom. Eradicate body odor!!!
