Romy Mars Has Weighed In on Alabama Barker

Ready to feel ancient? Romy Mars has shared her opinion on the feud between Alabama Barker and Bhad Bhabie. I’ll translate that to a frequency that can be heard by people who remember dELiA*s: Sofia Coppola’s daughter (from that one TikTok) is sort of involved in an ongoing beef between Travis Barker’s daughter and the “cash me outside” girl from Dr. Phil.

Please start at the beginning

Alabama Barker, 19, is Travis Barker’s daughter from his marriage to Shanna Moakler. You might remember her as a small child on Meet the Barkers, but now she’s acting very grown, and recently she spun her Instagram modeling career into a music stint. Bhad Bhabie, 21, is the rapper who turned her viral success into a rap career and an OnlyFans page, both of which are much more successful than you might think. Those two have been feuding since the end of last year, when Bhad Bhabie accused Barker of stealing her boyfriend/the father of her child. The man in question is this random guy named Le Vaughn, whose age and occupation are unknown. At the time, Barker denied having anything to do with Le Vaughn, only to later walk that back and say that she did know him but was unaware he was dating Bhad Bhabie. She also accused him of throwing a bottle at her head during a trip to Las Vegas (Bhad Bhabie had also previously accused Le Vaughn of physical assault.) About a week after their feud began, Bhad Bhabie posted that she was back together with Le Vaughn.

So how is this a rap beef?

On January 26, Bhad Bhabie shared the song “Over Cooked,” which opens with her saying, “Bitch, you want my life, you want the dick I get / You wanna worship the ground I walk on ’cause you idolize me, bitch.” She proceeds to get several shots off at Barker, including one about her being a nepo baby and a line about “stepmommy’s money.” Barker’s stepmom is, of course, Kourtney Kardashian.

On February 6, Barker responded with “Cry Bhabie.” In the song, she reiterated what she had previously shared about her relationship to Le Vaughn (“I was out in LV, and LV tried to pipe me / I can’t even cap, I didn’t know he was your BD”). Barker’s best line comes in the outro, when she says, “Bitches be talkin’ about me but having babies they not watching, babysitter-havin’ ass bitch.” It’s no “certified loverboy, certified pedophile,” but it is funny.

On February 25, Bhad Bhabie came out with “Ms. Whitman,” the title being a nod to Patricia Arquette’s call-girl character in True Romance, whom Barker is named for. In it, Bhad Bhabie takes more swipes at Barker’s link to the Kardashians and in the music video, twerks on a Travis Barker look-alike.

This video is the main reason that the feud has entered the mainstream. A viral post sharing a clip has been viewed over 80 million times on X, with user @TYRISPRINT writing, “ALABAMA BARKER WOKE THE REAL BHAD BABIE UP.”

Okay, so how is Romy Mars in it?

Right. Well, first you have to understand that Barker and Bhad Bhabie are a big topic of conversation on TikTok right now. And, like I imagine a lot of 18-year-olds are doing, Mars has seemingly been keeping tabs on the situation. In a now-deleted TikTok, Mars — who is not only a Coppola but whose dad is Thomas Mars of the band Phoenix — posed a question about Barker.

“Genuine question, what the fuck is Alabama Barker like, getting ready for? It’s like the Met Gala every single … twice a day! Three times a day with this girl,” Mars asked. “She has like a whole team of people doing her hair, all these different wigs, makeup that takes hours and hours and hours, insane outfits. But it’s like, multiple times a day. I don’t understand.”

At first, I didn’t understand what Mars was referring to. Barker’s TikTok and Instagram feeds aren’t really filled with GRWM content, which led me to realize that Mars is talking about Snapchat. After blowing the dust off of my account, I found Barker’s account and realized that Mars is correct: That girl is always getting ready for something. Sadly, Mars deleted the video from her page, and when someone asked about it under a different post, she replied, “Manager told me to.” Nepo-on-nepo crime is not a good look, I guess. Perhaps Barker’s next diss track should come in the form of a “Lisztomania” spoof.
