Morgan and Jaclyn Solomon’s jewelry line, Agmes, was created in honor of a late friend whose mission was to leave the world better than he’d found it, and that ethos guides everything they do. Not only is their sculptural jewelry sustainably made but they consistently advocate for organizations promoting and protecting human rights.
In March 2020, when the pandemic hit, Agmes began pledging a percentage of sales to nonprofits. In the first phase of this project, the company donated to No Kid Hungry; in the second, amid nationwide protests for Black lives, the money went to the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund. The debut of the Wishbone collection, which includes earrings and necklaces in liquid-y shapes, marks the third phase.
From September 1 through the month of December, five percent of online sales from the Wishbone collection will be donated to the ACLU. The famed nonprofit organization works in courts, legislatures, and communities to defend and preserve the individual rights and liberties of all people in this country, with a focus on fighting discrimination, improving free speech and voter rights, and supporting religious freedoms.
