Los Angeles–based hairstylist Jesus Guerrero unexpectedly died this weekend at 34 years old. The popular and beloved stylist was raised in Houston, Texas, and rose to success by amassing an A-list clientele roster: Kylie Jenner, Jennifer Lopez, Rosalía, Dua Lipa, Katy Perry, and more.

Over the weekend, a GoFundMe page started by Guerrero’s sister, Gris, was posted with a goal of $80,000. The goal was surpassed in under 24 hours, and over $93,000 has been raised. “It is with a heavy heart that we let the world know that Jesus Guerrero has gone to heaven,” the GoFundMe page reads. “Unfortunately, his passing came very suddenly and unexpectedly. Currently, his family is taking care of his personal belongings and accommodations to bring him home to Houston. We hope that you find it in your heart to help in any way and/or share this GoFundMe.” His family also announced his passing on his Instagram Story yesterday with a photo of him on the beach and a message that read, “We have fallen into tears repeatedly reminiscing and wondering what we could of done different to still have him with us.”

Industry friends and acquaintances who knew Guerrero were quick to post memories of him on social media. Cassie Ventura wrote on her Instagram Story, “We didn’t know each other very well but the impression you left on my heart will be everlasting,” accompanied by a photo of them together. Hairstylist Jen Atkin posted screenshots of their old conversations, as did makeup artist Ash K Holm, who often works with Kim and Khloe Kardashian. Makeup artist Mary Phillips was another peer who shared words. “The world will never be the same without you in it,” Phillips said, tagging Guerrero. Mario Dedivanovic, another Kardashian friend and makeup artist to Kim, shared a photo and wrote “Rest in Paradise.”

The cause of death has yet to be confirmed. Five days ago, Jennifer Lopez posted a photo in Dubai captioned “Business trip,” and Guerrero is tagged as well as the rest of her glam team. Lopez’s makeup artist, Scott Barnes, posted a memorial image to Instagram, saying, “I can’t believe I was just working with him in Dubai and now he’s gone.” In a now-deleted Instagram post, photographer Amber Asaly wrote that she and Guerrero were on the same flight into L.A. from Dubai and that he looked “very frail and so fragile” while in a wheelchair. “[I was] so so saddened to see him in the state he was in, it wasn’t the Jesus I knew … I thought maybe we got off a long flight and he was tired,” she wrote in the Instagram post.

Jenner, who was not only a client of Guerrero’s but also a friend, skipped last night’s SAG Awardswhere her boyfriend, Timothée Chalamet, won best actor for his performance in A Complete Unknown — possibly because of Guerrero’s passing. She has yet to make a public statement.

“He is a son, a brother, an uncle, an artist, a friend, and so much more. Born and raised in Houston, TX to immigrant parents, Jesus learned how to work hard and dreamt of taking his skills to the top,” Guerrero’s family wrote on his GoFundMe page. His talent will never be forgotten.
