Paige DeSorbo has been so busy posting Neutrogena spon-con and OOTD photo dumps, you might forget that she’s in the middle of a blowout Bravo crossover breakup with Craig Conover, of low-grade Southern Charm fame. But after she was spotted with a mystery man at an Eagles game, DeSorbo was forced to take a break from promotional content to address rumors that she cheated on her ex of three years.
“I never, in the three years that I dated my ex-boyfriend, I never physically cheated on him, emotionally cheated on him,” she said in Monday’s episode of her Giggly Squad podcast, which she co-hosts with Summer House alum Hannah Berner. “Can you mentally cheat on him? I don’t know, but I didn’t.”
DeSorbo went on to outline the timeline of events, given some people (ahem, Austen Kroll, also of Southern Charm) have suggested she had already moved on. (Conover also posted a rambling Instagram Live video last month implying he was blindsided by the breakup.) While DeSorbo announced that she and Conover had split on the December 30 episode of Giggly Squad, she clarified Monday that they actually broke up over Thanksgiving weekend.
According to DeSorbo, Conover wanted to act as though they were still together while promoting the current season of Southern Charm, which aired in early December, so she kept the breakup a secret. But when DeSorbo noticed Conover “presenting himself as single” on a trip, she decided it was time to rip off the Band-Aid. She claimed that she texted Conover to give him a heads-up that the episode was airing, but her “text went unanswered.”
“Since no one’s sticking up for me on the other side … Let me say this here and now, I did not move on with some new guy. I am single. I don’t have a new boyfriend,” she said. “I did not cheat on my ex-boyfriend, and it was a full month that we were broken up, and I didn’t say anything because even though we are public, there are certain things that I think should remain private, and he asked me not to say anything.”
“So any of the other baseless rumors … that have my name in them, they are not true,” she said, adding that she doesn’t want to be seen as the “villain.”
DeSorbo also noted that she asked her ex to help quell the cheating rumors, though he declined to do so. Well, thanks for nothing, Craig. I’m certain that man is currently distracting himself by sewing his little pillows in his immaculately pruned backyard.
