Today, after the Diane von Furstenberg show — which drew everyone from Allison Williams to Chirlane McCray, with both Kendall Jenner and Naomi Campbell on the runway — we caught up with the designer to discuss the inspiration behind her Mediterranean-themed “Riviera” collection. “It was inspired by the Côte D’Azur of the ‘50s … when we had Brigitte Bardot, but we also had Picasso and Matisse,” she explained. “It’s about joie de vivre, it’s about colors, feeling good about your body … it’s to glorify the woman, which is the only thing I know how to do.” Watch the video above for the full interview.
