While plenty of models — Gisele and Miranda Kerr come to mind — are able to get work through their pregnancies, Lara Stone says that being pregnant with her son, Alfred, hurt her career. Early on, a client dropped her, saying she’d gained too much weight. “I hadn’t yet had my three-month scan and I felt really vulnerable about everything. I no longer had a job,” the 30-year-old model tells the U.K.’s Evening Standard. “That was it — I had to just stop everything that I knew; the way my life was.” Despite that setback, Stone’s career is back on track, and (adorable alert) Stone also tells the paper that her son has regular playdates with Elton John’s and Tom Ford’s kids.
