In an uncharacteristic nod to historic Western culture, Selena Gomez wore a tunic screen-printed with Sicilian ruins to the 27th Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday night. The shortsuit — from Dolce & Gabbana’s spring collection — features a greyscale image of a crumbling amphitheater, framed with lilac flowers and a blue-and-yellow floral trim. Paired with silver Casadei pumps, the Greco-Roman look at least signifies a departure from Gomez’s self-described “glam tribal” aesthetic, which is a relief.
