Leonardo DiCaprio is giving a fantastic amount of funding to increase the tiger population in Nepal. Though he will play a wolf in an upcoming Martin Scorsese movie, tigers are his wild animal of choice. And though Leo’s name is associated with lions, I suppose lion can also refer to a brave champion, so it still works in this situation.

Dicaprio’s conservation foundation gave a $3 million grant to the World Wildlife Fund, devoting it to an initiative to double Nepal’s tiger population. The foundation aims to cease poaching and foster more protective areas for tigers. There are only 18 tigers in Nepal’s Terai Bardia National Park  — and the foundation hopes that number will reach 50 in the next 10 years.
