Ridley Scott is in talks with Angelina Jolie about starring in Gucci, his forthcoming film about the ultraglam Gucci dynasty of the seventies and eighties, when the house pulled in $500 million in annual sales. Jolie might play Maurizio Gucci’s ex-wife Patrizia Reggiano, who was convicted of plotting his murder and sentenced to 29 years in jail. (A hit man shot Maurizio on his doorstep in 1995, a year and a half after the sale of Gucci.) Scott is talking to Leonardo DiCaprio about playing Maurizio, but nothing is confirmed — except that so far, this movie sounds amazing. [Vulture]
