Patricia van der Vliet Is Thursday’s Top Model

Relative newbies lit up the first day of Fashion Week. Tao Okamoto, Japan’s hottest export, opened for Ports 1961, while Bruna Tenorio closed. At Jen Kao, relative newcomer Katie Fogarty opened and closed the show. And diversity ruled at Rosa Chá, with Chanel Iman opening and Jamaican stunner Jeneil Williams closing the show. The most newcomers to stomp out were at BCBG Max Azria. Hind Sahli, a Moroccan beauty, made her official runway debut yesterday on Max’s runway, while rookie Vanessa Hegelmaier closed the show. But it was Holland’s Next Top Model runner-up Patricia van der Vliet who opened the show. And for beating the Top Model curse of not only landing on a runway, but also of nabbing the first spot, Patricia gets the win. Perhaps the heavy-hitters — the Raquels, Cocos, and Karlies — are saving up their energy for the rest of the week. We’ll have to wait and see. Click ahead to see Patricia, as well as all Thursday’s openers and closers.
