Travis Kelce didn’t seem super-happy to be at the Chiefs game on Sunday night. In fact, the New York Post said he looked “miserable.” TMZ called him a “sad sack.” Me? I think he looked a little down in the dumps, sure. What do you think?
Woof. I wouldn’t say he looks … happy. So what’s got the man so down? TMZ pointed out that last night’s was a “Taylorless” game — could that be it? Taylor Swift seemingly stayed in New York this weekend, where she was spotted getting dinner with Gigi Hadid on Saturday. This was her first time missing a Chiefs game this season, so maybe that’s why Kelce was so blue.
It’s also possible that Kelce is bummed out with his own performance. He had four catches for 30 yards last night and continued his three-game streak of not scoring touchdowns. On last week’s episode of his podcast, New Heights, Kelce spoke about his frustration with his performance this season.
“I used to get really, really pissed off and almost lose my cool a lot of the time from not having that success, knowing that I demand that out of myself,” Kelce explained. “I just like to play the game to such a high level of accountability that it’s just tough for me to deal with being mediocre or having stats that represent that.”
That might be our answer. Or maybe he missed his girlfriend. My dark-horse theory is that it looks really windy in that video and I think something might have blown into his eye. I guess we’ll all just have to wait for the pod to get our answers.
