Seems Like Trump and Obama Really Get Along

Barack Obama spent much of last fall talking about how awful Donald Trump is. At Kamala Harris rallies across the country he said things like “Donald Trump is a 78-year-old billionaire who has not stopped whining about his problems since he rode down that golden escalator nine years ago” and “one of the most disturbing things about this election and about Trump’s rise in politics is how we seem to have set the values we were taught aside, how we seem to disregard them, how we pretend they don’t matter.”

Statements like that might make you think that Obama does not like Trump, but you’d be wrong. At Jimmy Carter’s funeral on Thursday, the two were having what looks like a very fun conversation.

Look at how the smile breaks across Obama’s face as if he’s just chatting with an old pal and not somebody he recently referred to as someone who “repeatedly lies [and] cheats” and “shows utter disregard for our Constitution.” But maybe that’s just a bad angle taken out of context. Let’s take another look.

Here they are just having a full-on conversation while the choir is singing. Grow up! At the very least Obama could have some self-respect and not chop it up with the guy who took the birther movement mainstream. Perhaps you noticed that Michelle Obama was not present at the funeral, maybe because she didn’t want to watch her husband embarrass himself.

In case this whole former-president meet-up didn’t seem amiable enough, this also happened.

Awesome.
