On Tuesday morning, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem tagged along as U.S. immigration agents raided at least two residences in the Bronx and arrested one alleged gang member. Despite the early hour, Noem still had time to apply a full beat and make sure her extensions were curled into perfect beachy waves. God forbid the professional photographer taking high-res photos of the ICE raid caught her with a hair out of place!
Noem shared several images to X on Tuesday, all of which make her look as if she’d dressed up as an ICE agent for Halloween.
Noem also posted a video of the arrest, which she captioned, “Dirtbags like this will continue to be removed from our streets.” She reused that verbiage later in a video for DHS, saying, “Here in New York City this morning we are getting the dirtbags off these streets.”
This performance Noem is putting on is part of Donald Trump’s promise to enact mass deportations. Agencies like ICE have ramped up raids all over the country, with over 900 people being arrested this past Sunday alone. The Washington Post reported that ICE field offices should be hitting a quota of at least 75 arrests per day, which means “at least 1,200 to 1,500” per day nationwide. That could mean a lot of early call times for hair and makeup if Noem continues to make appearances.
