At Monday’s inauguration, Barron Trump got a special shout-out from his dad. While addressing the audience at the Capital One Arena, Donald Trump made sure to call out his youngest son for his stunning achievements in the Being Tall As Hell space.
“I have a very tall son named Barron, has anyone ever heard of him?” Trump asked the crowd. I highly suggest watching the video of this moment so you can see Barron stand up for his ovation. You may notice that he’s really trying to emulate his papa. He waves with an awkward physicality, he points at people and gives the thumbs-up, and he holds his hand to his ear as if to say, “I can’t hear you!” (Melania is beaming during all of this.)
After Barron got his moment in the sun, Donald continued to hype up his boy for his knowledge of young people and podcasts. “He knew the youth vote. You know we won the youth vote by 36 points,” the president said, which is not true. “He was saying, ‘Dad, you gotta go out and do this one or that one.’ We did a lot of ’em. He respects them all very well, and he said, ‘Dad, you gotta go do Joe Rogan, do all these guys,’ and we did.”
Congrats to Barron for having the brilliant idea of getting a presidential candidate on the most popular podcast in the country. A few more strokes of genius and maybe Donald can come up with an opener that isn’t just “Can you believe the height on that kid?” It will probably help that Barron is reportedly starting his own real-estate business. Once that’s up and running, Trump can say something like, “I have a very tall son and he’s in the family business.” I’m sure that will feel great.
