On Wednesday, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. appeared in front of the Senate Finance Committee for his first day of confirmation hearings as Donald Trump angles to push him through as head of the Department of Health and Human Services. While RFK Jr. spewed misinformation about public health, his wife, actress Cheryl Hines, was right there by his side.
Hines and Kennedy arrived at the hearing holding hands and shared a big kiss before heading into the room where Kennedy was questioned. During the hearing, Hines sat directly behind her husband in a crisp pin-striped suit while Kennedy stumbled over the fundamentals of Medicare and Medicaid a few feet in front of her.
Hines, it seems, is more comfortable than ever supporting her husband and his new associates now that Trump is in office. Despite some early speculation that her liberal track record may get in the way (Hines is — or was — a longtime Democrat), she was seen wining and dining with Trump’s inner circle by mid-November. At the inauguration, she was seated prominently next to RFK Jr., attending the requisite balls and inaugural dinners with him throughout the weekend. I’d say she’s coasting smoothly into life as a MAGA wife.
