Cartier has been celebrating the 100th anniversary of its Trinity rings … all year. As it should. It’s very rare for a brand to create a design that is more relevant 100 years later (not to mention in an era of TikTok where trends are discarded week to week).
The anniversary celebrations have been happening all year around the world, including dinners in New York, Paris, and Singapore. To close out the 100-year celebrations, they are happening in Miami, during Art Basel.

In Miami’s Design District, the brand has created a pop-up exhibition that follows the history of the Trinity. Upon entering, you are greeted with a bold Cartier red before entering a room that takes you through a timeline of Trinity in pop culture from the past 100 years.
I learned that the Trinity design focuses on the number three, a signature of the French house. It was established by three brothers, Louis, Pierre, and Jacques, and there are three flagship locations in New York, Paris, and London. The Trinity collection, created in 1924, is an interlinking of three rings in three golds, rooted in the brand’s history. The trinity of tricolor rings symbolizes unity, a signature to Cartier for the past 100 years.

The pop-up experience’s grand finale was my favorite: a try-on room complete with jewelry cases showcasing Trinity pieces including classic models and a limited-edition collection of wild animal prints integrated into the trio. (I tried on a handful of Trinity styles, my favorite being the two finger Trinity rings from the limited collection, with a price tag of $55,000; a girl can dream.)
Suppose you, too, want to play dress-up in Cartier Trinity icons (highly recommended) and experience the exhibit at Miami Art Basel? It’s now open to the public from December 4–8. You can register here.
