The London-based brand Chopova Lowena, founded by friends and Central Saint Martins classmates Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena in 2017, has taken the fashion world by storm over the last few years. They’re best known for their colorful, plaid pleated skirts, which uniquely combine overstock, deadstock, repurposed, and sometimes centuries-old Bulgarian textiles with 1980s-style rock-climbing carabiner clips. (Yes, you read that correctly, and no it’s not a line from Zoolander.)
Their skirts are a punk-y fashion statement, but if you’re not in the market to spend $1,000-something dollars on half of an outfit, the brand’s charm necklaces use similar hardware, and also embody their signature look that’s both playful and tough. This necklace with a shiny flower charm could make a great gift for the fashion person in your life, but there are plenty of other fun options to choose from as well.
