Owning a piece of haute couture might be a rarefied experience, but Givenchy is looking to bring the couturier’s attention to detail to its main line. Today the brand launches Givenchy Atelier, a limited-edition collection featuring couture techniques like embellishment and embroidery on dresses, blouses, and more. Among the sleek black-and-white pieces (for both men and women) are sharply tailored trousers and jackets, plus fancier evening fare like black gowns and lacy minis.

In addition to clothes, Givenchy also incorporated couture details into accessories. A special-edition stiletto features a mix of leather and lace, while a version of the winged bow backpack (last seen at the brand’s couture runway show) is scaled down for practicality. Prices range from under $1,000 for the embellished T-shirts to around $5,000 for the lace trench coat — certainly an investment, but a far cry from what you’d pay for couture. You can shop the entire collection online at Bergdorf Goodman or at Givenchy’s Madison Avenue boutique.
