In an Instagram post, Anne Hathaway shared the news that she and husband Adam Shulman are currently expecting their second child. “It’s not for a movie … #2,” Hathaway captioned her baby-bump selfie. The couple already have a 3-year-old son named Jonathan Rosebanks.
Hathaway also hinted that getting pregnant both times wasn’t easy. “All kidding aside, for everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies. Sending you extra love,” she wrote.
Hathaway’s first pregnancy was also announced via Instagram, a decision she made after realizing that paparazzi had been taking photos of her on vacation. “So, posting a bikini pic is a little out of character for me, but just now while I was at the beach I noticed I was being photographed. I figure if this kind of photo is going to be out in the world it should at least be an image that makes me happy (and be one that was taken with my consent. And with a filter),” she wrote.
Hathaway and Shulman, who is an actor, producer, and jewelry designer, were married in September 2012 after dating for four years. Shortly following their wedding, the 36-year-old actress talked about her desire to start a family in an interview with Vogue. “Oh my God. I want to be a mother, and I anticipate loving my children quite fiercely,” she said. “I think about it all the time, though it’s a silly thing to think about because the kind of mother I’ll be depends on the kind of children I have. I can’t wait to meet them.”
