As the spring shows came to an end, we found ourselves anxiously tallying all the looks we wanted to re-create on our own. Rather than wait until 2016 rolls around, why not shop the best runway trends now — especially since so many of them will transition into fall with ease?
Most of the really wearable new trends are hybrid, new-and-improved takes on what’s already happening in fashion, with a more modern and relatable approach. Jason Wu and Cushnie et Ochs showed ruffled dresses that were light and elegant, rather than poufy. Off-the-shoulder pieces were updated with straps and intricate necklines at Adam Selman and Derek Lam, and fringe lost its bohemian vibe with modern shredded hems at Prabal Gurung and Dion Lee.

The '70s trend of wide-leg pants is still holding strong, so you might as well jump onboard. These lightweight denim trousers from Tibi have lace-up side detailing, similar to Rosie Assoulin's spring 2016 version. Or if you're looking for a little more strech, try MICHAEL Michael Kors's pants. Just add a tee or blouse and platform heels to complete the look.

Detailed Crochet Patterns Ask your great-grandma: Crochet isn't new by any means. But for spring 2016, crochet gets delicate with intricate designs, like this Isabel Marant top — great for layering thanks to its open-knit style. Or try Free People's crochet bubble top, which is light and semi-sheer.

Shredded Hemlines Last season we saw a lot of boho fringe, e.g., suede fringe bags, boots, and vests. For spring 2016, fringe has taken a chic turn with spaghetti-like shredded hemlines on skirts and dresses. This classic Proenza Schouler dress has a flattering asymmetric hem, or for something a little more casual, tuck in a tight shirt into Nic + Zoe's black fringe skirt.

Sheer Lace Lace automatically feels very feminine, so to add a little edge, consider next season's sheer touches. This No. 21 shirt could be worn with black tailored pants and heels, or pair it with this Intermix trumpet lace skirt to copy the exact look seen at Givenchy. (Layer a bodysuit underneath if you're not comfortable showing that much skin.)

Low-Rise Bottoms This '90s trend of low-rise is back, but in a more sophisticated way. Topshop's pants have a naturally slouchy fit, and the D-ring belted waist can be adjusted to a comfortable spot on your waist. Osman's powder-blue denim pair is the perfect transition piece since the denim is heavy, and you can tuck in any sweater and still get the same loose fit.

Bare Shoulders Off-the-shoulder tops were a definite blogger favorite this summer. The updated version has tiny spaghetti straps, a halter neckline, or oversize straps in the back with bare shoulders. This Adam Selman pleated top is a great way to try out the trend without investing too much, or if you prefer a runway piece, this Proenza Schouler top should do the trick.

Vintage-Feeling Overalls There were lots of jumpsuits seen in street-style pics, but overalls were designer favorites on the runway. The best ones, seen at Adam Lippes (left) and Rosie Assoulin, had clean lines and a dramatic flare at the bottom. Natasha Zinko's denim overalls have a cinched middle to accentuate the waist, while Topshop Unique's tuxedo-style version is lined with satin panels on the sides.

Relaxed Robes A couple seasons back, pajama tops were on almost every runway. Now, designers have moved on to a more practical nightwear option: robes. Lucas Nascimento's teal-blue silk-satin trench coat has just enough movement to wear with a T-shirt and flow-y bottoms, and LaGarçonne's robe coat is made from a sheer organza that drapes easily over anything with a modern touch.

Tango-Inspired Ruffles Ruffles got an elegant upgrade on the runway — look at Jason Wu's light and sophisticated version. We suggest wearing this look in smaller doses, like this A Piece Apart crop top with high-waisted flared jeans for a casual look, or this Isa Arfen dress with strappy black sandals for evening.

Clean Shirting Clean white shirts, pencil-thin pinstripes, and shirtdresses are still popular on the runway. Lucky for you, they're also really easy to wear. Pair this steal of a Céline shirt (only $145!) with tailored pants, or, for more drama, try the Rosetta Getty shirt halfway tucked into denim culottes.

Tie-Dye Prints Designers love to flirt with tie-dye, but this season saw more of the hippie print than usual at BCBG Max Azria, Rachel Comey, Tomas Maier, and Altuzarra (seen here). We recommend wearing it in modern pieces like this long-sleeve T-shirt from Proenza Schouler or this Vince pleated skirt.
