Pre-Fall Takes a Trip Down Croatia’s Coastline

In the Cut’s most recent installment of Out of the Box, photographic duo Luke and Nik set pre-fall’s bright colors and vibrant knits against the stark landscapes of Croatia’s coastline, specifically in Split, the beachy city located on the Dalmatian Coast. “We wanted to go somewhere we had never visited before. We found the landscape of Croatia offered very interesting contrasts, with the mix of grand landscapes and rough construction.”

The London-based pair, who have recently shot for The Financial Times and Beat magazine, and who run a photographic initiative called Wandering Bears that showcases emerging artists and talents from around the world, added their signature still-life shots, casting a fresh perspective on the season’s best shoes and bags. To mix it up, as one does on vacation, athletic gear was paired with elegant outerwear for a more grounded departure from the dreamy looks of summer.
