The Best Looks From MoMA’s 5 a.m. Crowd
Around 5 a.m. on Sunday, the longest day of the year, a crowd gathered at MoMA for a sold-out performance of Yoko Ono’s Morning Peace 2015. The act followed up on her seminal Morning Piece, first performed in New York 50 years ago on the roof of her West Village apartment. (Videos of Ono’s early work are on display at the museum’s current exhibition, “Yoko Ono: One Woman Show,” and instructions for re-creating the event yourself are available here.) After giving a short speech, dancing around in a hat topped with pink flowers, and leading a chant of “sunrise,” Ono handed the stage over to Dev Hynes, who greeted the morning with new Blood Orange songs.
