FKA Twigs Makes Freaky Look Hot

Last year, FKA Twigs’s hair became a point of reference for the fashion set — fast.
After debuting her first album, LP1, Twigs’s signature gelled baby hairs (a styling trick popularized by women of color for ages) were seen on the Givenchy runway and on Katy Perry. Twigs’s look is part ’90s R&B babe — she’s channeled Aaliyah as Queen of the Damned and TLC’s baggy-pant-sports-bra combos — and part cyberpunk, with all her strappy thigh-high boots and bondage. Then there’s her flow-y side-slit dresses, robes, and royal golds, accessorized with face paint or killer braids, staples in any warrior goddess’s wardrobe.
