John Galliano’s first collection for Margiela is coming sooner than we thought: He’ll show a couture collection for the house on January 12, WWD reports. And, in a break from tradition, it’ll be held in London instead of Paris, which he says is a nod to his “formative years and his beginnings in the industry” as well as a reference to London’s history of tailoring. (What does it all mean?)
The collection, which will be presented for only about 100 people — and then showed again in Paris during couture — will be held on the last day of London Collections: Men, though we’re expecting it’ll easily be the week’s big event.
