Tonight, the fashion world gathers at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, in celebration of Charles James, the American couturier whose work will be on display as part of the retrospective exhibit, Charles James: Beyond Fashion, at the newly renovated Anna Wintour Costume Center. Last year’s show, PUNK: Chaos to Couture, drew in quite the crowd — with Kim Kardashian wearing her now-infamous custom floral gown and Madonna showing up pantsless.
