Spring’s New Shapes: Dramatic, Fluid Silhouettes
In the Cut’s latest installment of Out of the Box, photographer Oliver Stalmans takes some of spring’s most dramatic fashions and captures their unusual textures, dramatic silhouettes, and simultaneous sense of grace and ease. Dazzling pieces, such as Prada embellished tops, sweeping Giorgio Armani capes, and sky-high ostrich headpieces, are set against the natural beauty of model Caroline Brasch Nielsen, who went without hair and makeup. His photographs are strikingly simple and poetic — and evoke the essence of Irving Penn’s iconic portraits of Lisa Fonssagrives.
