Last night, Hall of Fame quarterback Joe Namath tried to break the Internet by showing up for the Super Bowl coin toss in an enormous mink. Naturally, PETA immediately tweeted its displeasure. Not long after, it spawned a Twitter account of its own and quickly became the Pharrell hat of the Super Bowl. But Namath’s affinity for fur goes way back, and he’s not alone: Men from Kanye West to Elton John have been known to make the questionable style choice to wear fur.
