Rodarte’s Kate and Laura Mulleavy have just earned the respect and adoration of every nerd and Princess Leia fangirl that has existed from 1977 to now: Their fall/winter collection paid homage to the original Star Wars trilogy (no Jar Jar Binks here). As gowns featuring Yoda, C-3PO, Luke Skywalker, and a Tatooine sunset came down the runway, the literal squeals of delight (mine) and instantaneous social-media response revealed that there might be more than a few geeky Star Wars fans in the crowd. The duo, who are out and proud sci-fi fanatics — remember that D&D collection? — simply said the latest collection was “inspired by childhood nostalgia.” So does this mean they had the same Yoda sheets I did as a kid?*
